Principle 7 – Gather People – Gather People to Influence People (part 8)

As a follower of Jesus, YOU are a spiritual “difference maker”. You can move the spiritual needle in peoples’ lives. By practicing disciple-making skills like knowing people by name, building a Reach List, praying for and with people, showing them that you care, sharing your stories, giving personal invitations, and gathering them into groups, you can have a profound spiritual influence in their lives.

You are chosen by God. You were made to carry out the priestly purposes of the King. You are a nation of believers set apart for God‘s purposes. You belong to God. So announce Jesus to the world. Tell people about the ONE who has called you out of darkness and who has called you into HIS light and life (1 Peter 2:9). It is vital to remember we are spiritual people and we have a spiritual purpose to fulfill.

Just like Abraham was given the blessings of being a blessing, we, too, have been given the blessing of being a spiritual blessing to others. God has chosen you to make the glorious mystery of Christ known to people. What is this mystery? Christ living in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). We gather the people to move them closer to Jesus and propel them toward His love and purpose for their lives. You can help people personalize Jesus Christ by gathering them into groups and sharing your stories.
